Louis Saha has told Stadium Astro that Liverpool and Manchester United target Jude Bellingham has a similar “mentality” to that of Kylian Mbappe – with the two players set to do battle on Saturday in the World Cup quarter-final.
Bellingham, 19, produced another masterclass at the World Cup on Sunday – as did Mbappe. Bellingham continued to drive England into the latter stages with an assist for England’s first, laying on Jordan Henderson to score in a 3-0 win.
It came after Mbappe netted a brace – taking his tally to five and leading the goalscoring rankings at the World Cup. Two of the world’s best young players, arguably the best two, will face off on Saturday in the quarter-finals in Qatar.
Following England’s comfortable win over Senegal in the last 16, ex-Manchester United striker Saha was discussing Bellingham. He says while the two players are different in terms of position and quality, they have the same mentality.

“He reminds me a bit of Kylian Mbappe. Not in terms of quality, but with the same mentality. Yes he is young, but don’t tell me about age. He wants to play, he wants to show how good he is,” Saha said, on Stadium Astro.
“He has this character that people do not understand. Everyone says you have to come down, make your mark in a respectful way. That’s not his style. He is really confident, he takes the armband at Dortmund. I’m really impressed.”
Saha: Liverpool target Bellingham has similar mentality to Mbappe
Bellingham is a transfer target for most of England’s biggest clubs, and other European heavyweights. 90Min claim Liverpool and Manchester United are among those to have scouted him. But he is going to cost a pretty penny.
Pre-World Cup valuations of £100million have been blown out of the water. The wide-ranging belief is that he will now cost north of that figure and at 19, it is little surprise. Gary Neville predicts he will end up at Liverpool next summer.
