Rangers were linked with bringing Louis Moult to Ibrox in January.

Preston North End striker Louis Moult has told Open Goal that he was ‘buzzing’ when he heard that Rangers wanted to sign him last year.
Moult, 26, scored the winner for Preston in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest, and he appears to be finding his feet with the Lilywhites almost a year since signing from Motherwell.
With four goals and an assist in his last nine games, Moult is beginning to flourish for North End, with fans really taking to the hard-working ‘King Louis’ in recent weeks.
It’s still some way from the form that saw him become a star for Motherwell though, where he smashed 50 goals in just 98 games and emerged as a Fir Park hero.
Moult became famous for knocking Rangers out of the Scottish League Cup last season with a superb brace at Hampden Park, and that came around the time of rumours linking him with the Gers.
Pedro Caixinha was heavily linked with signing Moult for Rangers in the summer of 2017, and the Daily Mail reported earlier this year that the Gers were still keen on bringing him to Ibrox when he was struggling at Preston.

Now, Moult has spoken about Rangers, admitting that he was ‘buzzing’ when he heard of their interest in 2017, as it was flattering to be linked with a club of that size – and whilst he believes their interest was genuine, no move materialised, and he chose a move to Preston in December 2017.
“It was a strange one because there were rumours here, there and everywhere.” said Moult. “I’m on social media and I read stuff and it was just flattering really, I was buzzing. You know, a big club like that wanting me, I was buzzing and I was thinking ‘let’s see what happens’. But nothing ever came of it. I believe there was interest, but I believe there was interest from a number of clubs in the SPFL as well as down south, and I ended up at Preston,” he added.
