‘Lots of clubs after him’: Merson’s warning regarding winger Arsenal want

Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (1:59pm, January 14, 2023) that there will be a lot of clubs after reported Arsenal target Leandro Trossard.

The former Arsenal star believes that Trossard, linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s side in the January transfer window, is a very good winger.

The Sky Sports pundit thinks that a lot of clubs will be after the 28-year-old now that he reportedly wants to leave Brighton and Hove Albion this month.

The Athletic have reported that the 28-year-old winger has fallen out with Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The 28-year-old Belgium international’s agent wants the Seagulls to facilitate an exit for the winger this month.

Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal’s bitter North London rivals, have had a verbal offer of £12 million for Trossard turned down, according to the report.

TalkSPORT have reported that Arsenal are interested in Trossard, and so have 90min.

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has said on NBC Sports that Arsenal could look to make a move for the winger after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk to Graham Potter’s Chelsea.

Merson said: “I thought his contract was up in six months’ time and he was kicking off. He has got 18 months left.”

The pundit added: “He is a good player, a very, very good player. They will be queuing up for him, absolutely queuing up for him. There will be lots of clubs after him. “
