Lothar Matthaus predicts Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Germany legend Lothar Matthaus has predicted in The Sun that Tottenham Hotspur will lose to Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday evening.

Tottenham will take on Premier League rivals Liverpool at Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid in the final of the Champions League this evening.

Bayern Munich and Germany legend Matthaus has backed the Reds to win against Spurs.

Matthaus wrote in The Sun: “I said in August that Liverpool would win the Champions League. I’m not going to be like the London weather and change now. I’m not sure Spurs will be able to cope with Liverpool’s emotion and pressing.”

The 58-year-old added: “Kane always scores — but that won’t be enough. Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur.”

Liverpool are favourites

Liverpool have a better team than Tottenham, and the Merseyside outfit will head into the Champions League final as favourites.

The Reds reached the final of Europe’s premier club competition last season as well, and Jurgen Klopp’s side will be determined to make up for the defeat to Real Madrid in 2018.

Tottenham, though, will not be easy pushovers, and the way they got past Manchester City and Ajax in the previous rounds will give them confidence.

If Harry Kane starts, then it is going to be tough for the Liverpool defence; even the presence of the England international striker on the substitutes’ bench is going to be a problem for the Reds.
