Darwin Nunez has been speaking about his start to life at Liverpool, where he made a claim about Jordan Henderson.
What’s the story?
Well, it sounds as if the entire Liverpool squad have worked hard to help the £64m man settle in.
However, Nunez gave Henderson special recognition when describing the benefits of Liverpool’s pre-season trip to Austria.
The Uruguay international told Liverpool’s official website: “Building up a greater understanding with the players. For example, with Salah who plays up front too, as well as the guys who play in the midfield, like Fabio and also with Hendo. Hendo also tries to spend a lot of time talking with me.”
We expect nothing less from the England international, who is an admirable captain for Liverpool.
Henderson doesn’t have to spend “a lot of time” helping Nunez – in fact, it would probably be much easier for him to leave it to the South American players at Anfield.

However, it speaks volumes about his desire to make everybody feel welcome at Liverpool, even if a language barrier may prevent the 32-year-old from getting his message across.
Whatever those at Liverpool are doing with Nunez, it seems to be working.
The 23-year-old caused Manchester City all sorts of issues in Saturday’s Community Shield final, winning the penalty which put Liverpool 2-1 ahead, before sealing the win with his first competitive goal for Liverpool.
Darwin Nunez could be scarily good for Liverpool
Aside from speaking about the impact of Henderson and others, Nunez also commented on how the support from Liverpool fans helped him at the King Power Stadium.
The South American said: “I wanted to thank the Liverpool fans because when I went out to start my warm-up, they were chanting my name and it gave me goosebumps.
“They were also singing my name during the game itself, and that’s really important for a player as it calms you down and gives you a boost in confidence out on the pitch too. So, thanks to all of them once again because they made me feel really good.”

If that’s how a portion of the fanbase made him feel at the King Power Stadium, then imagine what a raucous Anfield could spur him onto.
Clearly, Nunez is a player who thrives off the passion he holds for football, as well as the support from fans, which pretty much makes him the perfect striker for Liverpool – in our view, he will become an icon on Merseyside.
