Roy Keane has criticised Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli on Sky Sports.

The Manchester United legend believes that Alli has his lost his hunger and is not the player who can guide Tottenham to the top four of the Premier League table this season.

Keane has also said that Spurs central defender Toby Alderweireld is not good enough to get into the United team.

The former Republic of Ireland international said about Alli on Sky Sports: “We are sick of talking about Dele Alli. What do you think is going to happen with this kid?

“Look at his stats from two or three years ago. He has lost the hunger, he has lost the eye of the tiger. He is not going to get Tottenham back into the top four. And we have the same conversation every week.”

Keane said about Alderweireld on Sky Sports: “He is not bad. Would he get into any of the top teams? Would he get into any of the top teams in England? Man United wouldn’t take him. Man City wouldn’t touch him.”

Harsh from Roy Keane?

Alli has not been playing regularly for Tottenham this season, and it is very unlikely that the England international midfielder will re-establish himself in the starting lineup in the coming weeks.

According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old has made one start and six substitute appearances in the Premier League, and has scored two goals and provided three assists in six Europa League games for Spurs so far this season.

It is a bit harsh from Keane to say that Alli has lost his hunger. Just because the midfielder is not getting chances does not mean that he does not want to play.

Alli has done his best when he has been called into action, and he can only play well on a consistent basis if he gets a run in the team.
