Everton fans are far from happy with David Unsworth’s decision to rest key players for their Europa League tie against Lyon.

Everton have left Michael Keane, Wayne Rooney, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines at home, as they rest of the team travel to France.

Many Everton fans feel that Unsworth has now completely given up on the Europa League to concentrate on domestic matters.

But Toffees fans are displeased that such a decision has been made, as they wanted their strongest line-up put out against Lyon.

Everton are yet to win a match in their Europa League group stage, which leaves their hopes of qualifying in tatters.

However, the Toffees still have a mathematical chance of making it to the next round, if they are able to win all their remaining fixtures.

Beating Lyon in France would be a tough test, even if Unsworth named his strongest line-up, and there are fears that a defeat is inevitable with fringe players in the team.

Unsworth is still fighting to earn the permanent job at Everton, but he is yet to win a game since taking over from Ronald Koeman.
