Louis Saha says there will be some form of ‘regret’ from Harry Kane if he leaves Tottenham Hotspur, as he searches for trophies in his career, as he told GGrecon.

The former France star backed Kane to secure a move away from Spurs to the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich where he can lift some silverware.

The 29-year-old has less than 18 months left on his contract in north London and he is going to be at a crossroads of his goal-crazy, yet trophy-less career in the summer.

Does he sign on the dotted line and risk the chance of ending his career without silverware? Or does he open himself to a club that is already used to that trophy-winning feeling?

Either way, if the England captain stays put and signs a new deal, then expect the £200k-a-week star (Spotrac) to end his career at Hotspur Way.

Nonetheless, Saha shared his thoughts on Kane’s future and what the soon-to-be Tottenham top scorer should do with his career.

“I’m sure Tottenham will try to keep him,” said Saha. “Losing him to another Premier League rival, similar to what happened with Robin van Persie when he left Arsenal for Manchester United, is not impossible because you can’t stop a player that’s done so much for the club.

“I believe he deserves a move if he wants one, especially to a club like Real Madrid where he’d have a great opportunity of winning the Champions League. If he goes to Bayern Munich then he’d definitely win the Bundesliga, so there are some exciting opportunities for him out there. He could even go to Manchester United and help them win the Premier League whilst still having the opportunity of breaking the Premier League goalscoring record.

“If he leaves Tottenham, then he will leave with some regrets because he’s tried so hard to win things with the club and make them successful. However, he can still look at himself in the mirror and be proud of what he’s done for the club. You have a short career and I hope he can win some silverware, wherever that may be, because he deserves it.”

KANE HAS TO LOOK AT OTHER OPTIONS

There’s no doubt that Kane will become Tottenham’s all-time top-scorer, as well as break Wayne Rooney’s England record.

But will he break Alan Shearer’s 260-goal Premier League record? If he is still in the Premier League for the next five years, then Shearer can wave goodbye to that record.

Of course, he might not even be in Spurs colours if it happens because he can move to another Premier League team.

But whatever does happen, when Kane makes his next step, he needs to make sure he has zero regrets at the end of it because he should be winning every domestic trophy possible.
