Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius knows about the magnitude of Monday’s fixture against Manchester United, and is expecting a close game against the Reds’ fierce rivals, the official Liverpool website reports.
Karius could make his fourth consecutive start for the Reds on Monday night in what will be his biggest fixture in English football to date, if he’s selected ahead of Simon Mignolet.
The German is quoted by the club’s official website, saying: “It will be a big game; I think it will be a close game.

“Man United has a good, strong team but we have a great team and we play at home. We have respect for them but we’re not scared of them and we know we want to win the game.
“We’ll have a good plan – or more than one plan – so we will be well prepared. Monday night at Anfield, the fans will be behind us, so I think everyone’s looking forward to it.”
Liverpool will be looking to make it three wins from as many home games to start the season, having already scored nine goals at home in the process – while they will also be after their fifth consecutive league win to keep up the pressure at the top of the table at this early stage of the season.

Jürgen Klopp’s side currently occupy fourth place but are just two points behind Manchester City at the top, with Tottenham and Arsenal the two sides in between them. Manchester United are three points further back and will be looking to claim a big scalp themselves this weekend.
It’s set up to be a fascinating encounter as both sides have their fair share of attacking talent on show, and they both have their weaknesses.
Jose Mourinho has a reputation of being able to frustrate sides in big away games so there is a degree of expectation he will do just that, but he has an opportunity to extend a good run of form for United against Liverpool – having won each of the last four Premier League encounters.
