Lord Sugar has said on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur will not win the Premier League title this season.

The former Tottenham chairman has claimed that Spurs were never in the race for the league title.

Lord Sugar made the comments following Jose Mourinho’s side’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

It followed Tottenham’s 2-1 loss at the hands of Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League last week.

Spurs are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 25 points from 14 matches, six points behind leaders and defending champions Liverpool.

Bouncing back

It has been a bad week for Tottenham, and Mourinho and his players will know it.

That does not mean that Spurs are not in the title race any longer. A run of positive results over the Christmas period will see the North London club get their confidence back.

Mourinho is a serial winner, and he knows how to get his players over disappointment and bad results.

Tottenham will take on Stoke City in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup on Wednesday before facing Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on December 27.
