Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-1 to Southampton at St Mary’s today.

Tottenham Hotspur slumped to a third defeat in four Premier League games today.
Spurs led Southampton 1-0 at half-time through Harry Kane’s opener at St Mary’s.
But the Saints slowly and surely grew into the game during the second half and drew level on 76 minutes through Yann Valery.
The 20-year-old swept home the equaliser after Tottenham left-back Danny Rose inexplicably allowed a cross to go through his legs, for no apparent reason.
It got worse for the Lilywhites – who had manager Mauricio Pochettino in the stands due to a touchline ban – five minutes later when James Ward-Prowse curled home a wonderful free kick, sealing a big win for the South-Coast outfit.

The North Londoners, who drew 1-1 at home to Arsenal last week, have also lost away to Chelsea and Burnley recently.
Pochettino’s side remain third, but fifth-placed Arsenal will move one point behind them if they beat Manchester United in fourth tomorrow.
It’s very much about a top-four finish now for the Lilywhites, who were challenging for the Premier League title only a few weeks ago.
