Lord Sugar was left fuming over Burnley’s opener against Tottenham Hotspur today.

The Clarets took the lead against the run of play on 57 minutes when Chris Wood headed home from a corner.

But television replays indicate that it should have been a goal kick for Tottenham in the first place.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino cut a furious figure on the touchline and Sugar said on Twitter that ‘cheating’ is unacceptable.

Tottenham levelled up less than 10 minutes later through Harry Kane, on his return to the North Londoners’ first XI following a six-week layoff with an ankle injury.

Sean Dyche’s side regained the lead with just seven minutes left when Ashley Barnes turned home a Joey Gudmundsson shot.

Had Pochettino’s side come back to win, there might’ve been little mention of the officiating error which saw Burnley take the lead.

But the defeat will now cause uproar among everyone associated with Tottenham, who missed the chance to go within two points of Premier League leaders Liverpool and Manchester City.
