The former Tottenham Hotspur chairman was Tweeting away as Spurs beat Qarabag in the Europa League.
Tottenham Hotspur were in Europa League action last night, as they took on Azeri outfit FK Qarabag at White Hart Lane to begin their European campaign.
The minnows had travelled 2,500 miles for the fixture and started well, taking the lead after Kieran Trippier lived up to his name by giving away a penalty.
However they fought back to claim a 3-1 victory – thanks to two goals from Heung-min Son and a late finisher from Erik Lamela.
The Argentine had a good game for Spurs but looked increasingly likely to once again cut a frustrated figure at the end of the fixture. He missed several good opportunities to score throughout the game before Harry Kane slotted him through and he performed a delicate chip for his first goal since April.
Which clearly pleased Lord Sugar. Better known now as the lead man in the BBC’s apprentice the entrepreneur is also a former Tottenham chairman and big Spurs fan.
A vehement critic of Lamela over the past few seasons, last night was no different. However, posting on his official Twitter account, he did concede that the goal will do Lamela some good.
As for Son, it was back to the dad jokes. Last weekend Sugar had made a poor effort at comedy on Twitter by joking about a ‘new chant’ for Son when he hits the back of the net, ‘come on my Son’.

Sugar was not all bad puns and basic Lamela slating though, he was also being positive regarding one divisive player. Andros Townsend splits opinion in the Tottenham fanbase. The right-winger is often criticised for his over-direct and predictable style of play but Sugar was one Tottenham fan pleased to see him feature:
Sugar will be hoping to see plenty more of Townsend and will hope to have the opportunity to use his bad pun even more as the season progresses.
