Lord Sugar is desperate to see the Argentine stay at Tottenham Hotspur.
Lord Sugar has warned Manchester United to keep their hands off Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Jose Mourinho, who spent £149 million in the summer, is so far not shaping up to be the excellent appointment that it looked at the time, though it is very early early days.
The Red Devils lost 4-0 at Chelsea on Sunday for what was their third defeat in nine Premier League outings, leaving them six points off co-leaders Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool
Prior to the Mourinho appointment, there was speculation of the Tottenham boss replacing Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford after Pochettino met Sir Alex Ferguson for lunch.
But the Argentine extended his contract at Spurs until 2021 a couple of days later in a move which illustrated his commitment to the North London club.
The Lilywhites have been in fine form again this season, with Pochettino’s troops the only unbeaten side left in the Premier League after nine matches played.
As a manager, it appears as if the 44-year-old is very much the real deal, and former Tottenham owner Sugar is desperate to see him stay with the club.
United are unlikely to sack Mourinho any time soon so Tottenham fans can rest easy in the knowledge that the South American won’t interest the European giants at the moment, but long term, he might well be a target and it is a difficult job to turn down.
