Former football club chairman Lord Sugar is famed for sacking people but even he feels Leicester City’s decision is a step too far.
Lord Sugar was unimpressed with Leicester’s decision
As the chief on The Apprentice, Lord Sugar is famed for his no nonsense firings.
Even in his past as chairman at Tottenham Hotspur he was more than willing to sack those who did not live up to his hopes, just ask Christian Gross.
But even Leicester City’s sacking of Claudio Ranieri was one too far for even Lord Sugar to stomach.
He reacted on Twitter to Leicester’s announcement, giving a withering one word assessment.
Leicester incredibly won the Premier League title last season, beating odds of 5,000/1 to do so which were on offer at the start of the campaign.
Sacked… Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri
Their title defence has been a disaster, from losing their opening game against Hull to their current situation – 17th in the league and one point above the relegation zone.
Even so you would think that even in modern football there is a case for some sort of sentiment, but Ranieri evidently exhausted that and Leicester’s owners in fear of relegation have decided to wield the axe and take the gamble on what might be around the corner.
