Lord Sugar isn’t a huge fan of the divisive Tottenham Hotspur winger.
Lord Sugar has claimed on Twitter that he would like to see Erik Lamela leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The 25-year-old winger has had to accept a bit-part role for Spurs since returning from his year-long absence with a hip injury in November.
He was, however, given a rare Premier League start by Mauricio Pochettino in Tottenham’s 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday, but the Argentine failed to make the most of that opportunity
Lamela, a £25 million signing from Roma in 2013, had very little impact and Pochettino hooked him off for Lucas Moura on 66 minutes.
Tottenham fans expressed their frustration with him on Twitter afterwards, and former Lilywhites chairman Sugar was among the critics.
Lamela, who started the 2-2 draw at Juventus in the Champions League 10 days ago, is unlikely to be short on suitors, following rumours in January that Roma and Inter Milan are keen on signing him.
He has always been a divisive figure among fans of the North London club, but if Lucas hits the ground running then you wonder if Pochettino will take Sugar’s advice and offload him this summer.
