Lord Alan Sugar has given his take on the VAR controversy that surrounded the Premier League match between Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.

A late own goal saw Spurs pick up all three points from the encounter.

It was a hugely controversial game.

While not many would argue about the dismissal of midfielder Curtis Jones, the first yellow card that was shown to forward Diogo Jota was harsh.

Then there was the goal from Luis Diaz that was ruled out because of a miscommunication between VAR and the on-field officials.

Liverpool as a club are not happy and have released a damning statement on their official website, saying that they “will explore the range of options available”.

The former Spurs chairman has noted that the decision against Tottenham could cost Liverpool at the end of the season.
