Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Jurgen Klopp has finally been able to give a positive injury update.

Week after week, Klopp has had to deliver bad news about injuries in his press conferences and in official communications.

The likes of Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Roberto Firmino have all been sidelined in recent weeks, and it’s been a while since we’ve had any good news.

However, Klopp was able to give a positive update on Harvey Elliott after his dislocated his ankle against Leeds back in September.

What’s been said?

Klopp was speaking about Elliott.

“He’s great, Harvey’s great,” Klopp said.

“I have no idea when exactly it’ll be, but we can’t wait actually. It looks really good.

“Whichever person you speak to from the rehab department, you hear that he is so determined, he is really very positive all the time with us here.

“It is nice to see him smiling the whole day and working hard. He will be back, but how soon I don’t know.”

Great to hear

It’s about time that we got a positive update on an injured Liverpool player.

This is absolutely fantastic to hear. Elliott’s injury against Leeds looked like it could have been career-altering, but it seems as though he’s working hard and doing very well in terms of his recovery.

Of course, this update doesn’t mean that he’s going to be back in a week’s time, but it seems as though we’re getting closer and closer to seeing the teenager come back.

Fingers crossed Elliott returns and is able to make an impact at Anfield in the not so distant future.
