Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been showering Gabriel Jesus with praise after his brace against Leicester City.

The Brazilian striker was absolutely brilliant against the Foxes over the weekend, causing so many problems for the East Midlands outfit and finding the back of the net on two occasions.

Ferdinand was blown away by Jesus’ performance, stating that the striker is looking phenomenal at the moment, stating that he’s a top addition.

Ferdinand spoke about Jesus.

“You have to say, Arsenal, Jesus looks phenomenal at the moment. The way you guys are playing, you’ve gone up a level, your recruitment has been first-class. Jesus is a top, top addition and Zinchenko, you have two players who’ve come from a winning culture that know how to win, so that’s added value there regardless of ability,” Ferdinand said.

Inspired signing

Gabriel Jesus is already looking like one of the most inspired signings of the summer.

At £45m with one year left on his contract, it would have been hard to argue a few weeks ago that Jesus was a bargain, but after an incredible start to his Arsenal career, it’s fair to say that this signing is already looking like a huge success.

The Brazilian is giving Arsenal everything they paid for and more. The striker is linking up play, scoring goals and occupying defenders every single minute he is on the pitch.

It has felt for a while like Arsenal were just one signing away from making something special happen at the Emirates, and it looks as though Jesus may well have been the last piece of this puzzle.
