Some West Ham fans on social media have been reacting after it was announced that Alphonse Areola has joined the club on loan.
The goalkeeper had long been linked with a move to West Ham, and on Thursday the move was finally made official.
The PSG stopper joins on an initial loan deal, but the Hammers have an option to make that permanent.
Predictably, West Ham supporters were buzzing with this signing, and to be honest, they have every right to be.
They’ve plugged a problem position with a goalkeeper who has already proven himself at this level, with Areola shining for Fulham last season despite their relegation.
Areola could be key to any further success West Ham have this season, and they’ll want to build on last term’s sixth-placed finished by breaching the top four.
The addition of the France international has certainly gone down a treat with the fanbase, and it won’t be long before Hammers fans are able to see what he can do on the pitch.
