Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are reacting on Twitter to a Colombian striker being spotted wearing one of their jerseys.
There’s an image doing the rounds of social media of a certain Luis Muriel wearing a Spurs shirt.
The Atalanta hitman, who netted 26 goals in all competitions last season, appears to have donned the Tottenham colours after a friendly 5-a-side match.
Here’s how some fans of the North London club reacted on Twitter.
There’s worse options
As you can see, some supporters wouldn’t mind having Muriel as a back-up to Harry Kane – and let’s face it, there are worse options.
Actually, in terms of goals, Muriel would arguably be the best second-choice striker that Tottenham have had since the 27-year-old Englishman has been ripping it up in the senior side.
The likes of Roberto Soldado, Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente and Carlos Vinicius have all been decent number nines – well, except perhaps Janssen – but Muriel is a level above that quartet.
Yes, he is already 30, but 26 goals in Italian football is one hell of a return last season and the Lilywhites could do a lot worse.
But it’s worth pointing out that the fact he’s wearing the North Londoners’ colours has nothing to do with a transfer.
Well, not yet anyhow.
