Tottenham Hotspur supporters have taken to Twitter after coming across a photograph of Bryan Gil in training.

Spurs are set to resume their Premier League campaign following a coronavirus outbreak at Hotspur Way which halted their whole season for a couple of weeks.

The Lilywhites welcome Liverpool to North London on Sunday and yesterday, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte put his players through their paces in preparation.

The Spain international joined the English outfit this past summer in a £20 million deal from Sevilla but it hasn’t been a stellar start to life in the Premier League.

Gil only managed 57 minutes of Premier League football under Nuno Espirito Santo and hasn’t yet featured in this competition under the Italian manager.

Here’s how some Tottenham supporters reacted to seeing him on Friday:

January departure?

Leaving Tottenham on a temporary basis next month genuinely cannot be ruled out.

This is particularly going to be probable if Conte’s outfit are definitely eliminated from the Europa Conference League, with that decision yet to be made.

If he isn’t playing somewhat regularly in the Premier League, which he isn’t, then it makes you wonder why the Lilywhites would even want him during the second half of the campaign.

There’s no denying that Gil is a big talent, someone with a lot of potential, but he needs regular games because, at 20, he still isn’t the finished article in terms of development, though a six-month loan may improve him.
