Joe Gomez looks to be progressing well in his comeback from injury for Liverpool.

A knee injury has denied the England international any game time on the field for Liverpool since October.

But Gomez demonstrated his seriously impressive upper body strength with an Instagram video of his progress on Friday.

The former Charlton defender, who joined Liverpool in 2015, uploaded footage of his work-out regimen at the Reds’ Axa Training Ground yesterday.

And suffice to say that some fans of the Merseyside club were impressed with his exercise.

Here’s how some Liverpool supporters reacted to the footage on Twitter:

It’s a bit of a cliche in football, but Gomez – and Virgil van Dijk, who’s been absent for around the same length of time – will be like a new signing for Liverpool next term.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have badly missed him and Van Dijk at the heart of their defence and although the likes of Ozan Kabak – on loan from Schalke – and Nat Phillips deputised well, they’re a level below Gomez and the big Dutchman, it has to be said.
