It was a mixed afternoon for Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott today.
On one hand, the 17-year-old, whom Liverpool loaned to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, was on the losing side as Norwich City won 2-1 at Ewood Park.
On the other, Elliott was perhaps the best player on the pitch – and equalised for Rovers in the second half.
The young attacker, who has already made his senior debut for Jurgen Klopp’s side, simply oozed quality all day long and was unfortunate to be on the losing side.
Not only is Elliott’s first touch a joy to behold, but his movement, technique and range of passing certainly indicate that Liverpool have a gem on their hands.
And former Norwich hitman, who lived tweeted throughout the game, is in agreement, claiming that he simply ‘looks like a proper player’.
Elliott absolutely is the real deal.
You just don’t get signed by Liverpool as a 16-year-old if there’s doubts about your ability and it’s so exciting to see how much better he can get.
Remember, he’s only been playing regular football for a few months.
By the time he returns to Merseyside in the summer, he’ll have come on leaps and bounds and it’s fascinating to see how he develops.
