The Everton youngster is yet to feature in the league and needs to make an impact when he does get his chance to impress.

Everton fans know how talented Ademola Lookman is, and it is only a matter of time before he proves his worth on a regular basis at Goodison Park. However, if he wants to make an impact this season he needs to seize every opportunity that comes his way.

The problem for Lookman is that Everton have significantly strengthened this summer, ensuring it is tougher than ever to break into Ronald Koeman’s first-team plans.

As a result, Lookman is yet to get a single minute of Premier League action this time round, watching from the bench as Everton have played Stoke City, Manchester City and Chelsea.

The 19-year-old wasted little time impressing after he arrived at Everton from Charlton Athletic, scoring on his debut in a 4-0 victory against Manchester City.

While his efforts were somewhat subdued in the immediate aftermath of that headline-grabbing arrival, his performances for England’s U20 World Cup-winning squad this summer spoke of better things to come.

Starts in the league may be few and far between in the short term, yet Lookman could force Koeman’s hand if he excels in upcoming cup matches.

Everton face Atalanta in the Europa League and Sunderland in the EFL Cup and Lookman has a realistic chance of starting one if not both games.

From there he needs to shine, proving he is ready for regular first-team action and potentially forcing more minutes as an impact sub when Everton need to change the game against top sides.
