Following Ronald Koeman’s Everton exit and the appointment of David Unsworth as caretaker manager, you can rest assured there will be changes when the Toffees face Chelsea in the fourth round of the EFL Cup this week.

One Everton player hoping for a chance will be winger Ademola Lookman, and the 20-year-old has the potential to give Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger a torrid time.

Signed for an initial fee of £29million (BBC) the 24-year-old has featured regularly for Chelsea this season and is expected to make his second EFL Cup appearance of the season when the Blues welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge.

But Lookman has the skill-set and the innate confidence needed to turn the German defender in knots and it will be interesting to see how Rudiger copes with the Everton youngster if they square off on Wednesday evening.

Toffees fans have been crying out for Lookman to get more chances this season and Unsworth is likely to give them to him for as long as he is in charge.

There is no doubting Rudiger’s defensive quality but he has history of being made to look foolish by tricky wingers and this could be another example for the highlights reel.
