Ian Wright has hailed Everton loanee, Theo Walcott, for ‘looking sharp’ at Southampton this season, as he told Wrighty’s House Podcast.
The 31-year-old, who didn’t really hit it off during his time at Everton, returned to where it all started in the summer.
It’s a move that is working out for the versatile speedster, who is hoping to secure a European place with the Saints this season.
Former Arsenal striker Wright thinks that Walcott is looking ‘so comfortable’ now, as he shared that he is ‘quite happy’ that it’s working out for him.
“There’s something about watching Theo Walcott looking sharp and playing well,” said Wright. “It kind of makes me smile a little bit.
“He just seems to have worked it out. He just looks so comfortable at Southampton. I am just really pleased for him. I was gutted when he scored against Arsenal, but I was really pleased for him.
“I am quite happy for Theo because there was something about him when he was younger that would make me feel very warm towards him like you are going to hug him like ‘it’s going to be okay, you are going to be okay’.”

With the January transfer window open, it will be interesting to see if Walcott seals a permanent move to Southampton.
That seems like the logical step because it’s a move that would suit all parties.
Until then, Walcott will be hoping his current side can finish above Everton in the league this season, as both are challenging near the top after very strong starts to the campaign.
