Leeds United loanee Barry Douglas stated on Twitter that he is ‘always learning’ after his first start for Blackburn ended in defeat.

The 31-year-old, who is on-loan at Ewood Park this season, saw his Rovers side suffer a 4-2 defeat to Championship table-toppers Reading on Tuesday night.

A selection of Leeds fans lent their support to the left-back, whose form and game time has stagnated in recent year because of injury problems.

Helder Costa also commented on Instagram when Douglas posted the same message and he simply replied with a chant: ‘Oh Barry Douglas run down the wing for me’.

It would have been a sense of Deja Vu for Douglas when he was sent out on loan by Leeds this summer because he was in a similar scenario when at Wolves.

Following their promotion, the Midlands side opted to part ways with the Scotsman, who joined Leeds before helping them down the same road in July.

The unfortunate part for Douglas is that injuries have hit him hard and it hasn’t allowed him to build any rhythm or confidence.

But at Blackburn, who are sitting outside of the playoffs, he will be hoping his know-how pushes them towards promotion under the experienced Tony Mowbray.

And there’s no doubt that Yorkshire is behind him.
