Burnley boss Sean Dyche has spoken up in defence of Jose Mourinho after he was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, when talking on the Super 6 podcast.
Mourinho parted company with Tottenham last month, with Spurs disappointing this term.
Tottenham hadn’t lived up to expectations in the Premier League, with Mourinho’s style of football coming into question from sections of their support.
However, Dyche feels that Mourinho shouldn’t be doubted as much as he often is.
And when asked which manager he would have enjoyed working with, he said: “Look, I know Mourinho gets his question marks but I’ve always said he’s a serial winner that man. I know he’s questioned on all sorts nowadays, but he’s a serial winner. You can’t win that much without knowing what you are doing.”
Mourinho has indeed had real success in his career, but there are legitimate questions over whether his methods work in modern football.

By the end of his Tottenham spell it was clear that relationships with some players were strained.
It is also fair to say that Spurs weren’t performing at their best on the pitch with him in charge.
However, many supporters have suggested that sacking Mourinho before he had the chance to manage in his first final with Spurs was a misstep from Daniel Levy, as the Portuguese boss usually thrives in pressure games.
