Dion Dublin noticed from Serge Aurier’s body language that he knew he’d let his Tottenham Hotspur teammates down yesterday, as per his comments to Match of the Day 2, which was broadcast by the BBC.

Spurs lost 2-0 to Leicester City, and Aurier gave the Foxes a helping hand on their way to victory.

The Ivorian clattered into the back of Wesley Fofana just before half-time, as he gave away a penalty for a completely needless foul.

It was the type of error that Aurier was once guilty of making all too regularly, but had seemingly cut out of his game this season.

And Dublin felt that Aurier knew his mistake straight away, after he gave away the spot kick.

“This is the old Serge Aurier, it’s the Aurier that we thought had gone because he’s been really good this season,” Dublin said.

“I don’t know what he is thinking there, he can’t see the ball, he hasn’t gone for the ball! He’s let his team down, and he knows that, look at his body language.”

Aurier has indeed been one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers this term, but his display yesterday may see the £23 million man (BBC Sport) taken out of the team.

Matt Doherty is waiting in the wings, and Mourinho has already shown a ruthless streak with other players who have made errors this season.

Tottenham’s next league game comes against Wolves on 27th December, and it will now be very interesting to see who lines up at right-back during that fixture.
