Gabby Agbonlahor stated ‘look how many times’ the Leeds United players kept fouling Jack Grealish during Man City’s 3-1 win at Elland Road on Wednesday evening, as he told talkSPORT.

Jack Grealish and fouls. It’s probably a match made in heaven. From when he was at Aston Villa to now donning the colours of Man City, he will get kicked around for fun again and again.

And during Man City and Leeds’ Premier League return yesterday, it was no different, as Agbonlahor stated that whenever the England international gets the ball he has at least two players on him.

The first half of Man City’s win at Leeds didn’t exactly go plain sailing for Grealish because he missed a number of guilt-edge chances.

But after the break, he had two assists to his name in next to no time, as he fed Leeds-born Erling Haaland with two goals upon his return to Yorkshire.

Nonetheless, with Grealish, following his £100 million transfer from Villa, getting a lot of criticism for his performances, he was defended by his former teammate, as Agbonlahor also spoke about the treatment he was at the end of last night.

“The lad has so much else to his game,” said Agbonlahor. “Look how many times Leeds were kicking him. Players getting yellow cards.

“Whenever he gets the ball, he turns and he has two players on him, so someone else is free. Has Haaland got fewer players around him? Has Mahrez got two players on him? No.

“It’s different to what he has been used to. At Villa, it was like, ‘oh, we’re not scared of Villa. We will leave Jack one-v-one because we’re not scared of Aston Villa’. And he did so much more damage because he was receiving the ball one-v-one.

“At Man City, he gets it and you have got a bus facing you, which you have to get past, so it’s different.”

JACK GREALISH AND LEEDS FANS

Ever since Grealish’s days from the Championship when he was donning the colours of his boyhood club, his relationship with the Leeds supporters has been an interesting one.

He was involved in the game that saw Marcelo Bielsa allow the Midlands side to score an uncontested goal at Elland Road, but it’s not just that which has gotten under the skin of the Leeds faithful.

Whilst Grealish does get kicked a fair few times, for some, they think he goes down way too easily and it’s actions that just aren’t well received.
