Could Zlatan really sign for Celtic?
PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic celebrates at the end of the match
Could there be a dramatic twist in the race to sign Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic?
The striker is a free agent after letting his contract run down at Paris Saint-Germain, and is taking time to decide on his next move.
SkySports have suggested he could be bound for Manchester United, but perhaps another British club is interested…
Bookies Paddy Power have over the last 24 hours slashed odds on Zlatan signing for Celtic, who they now price at second favourites.
United are 4/11 on to sign the 34-year-old, while Celtic are down to just 5/2.

At Celtic he could follow in the footsteps of former international teammate Henrik Larsson who is a heroic figure at the club, and his signing would make next season’s title a foregone conclusion despite Rangers’ recent promotion.
Counting against a deal however are the high wages Zlatan would command, with Celtic unlikely to be able to compete with Manchester United, or offers he has from America or the Middle East, and they would be entirely dependent on the veteran making his decision based solely on the club, and being willing to take a substantial pay but.

Despite reaching his mid-30s, Zlatan continues to get better and better, netting a phenomenal 50 goals in 51 games for PSG last season, and the scoring tallies he could rack up playing for Celtic are potentially mind blowing.
We would not expect this to be anywhere near as likely as the bookies may suggest, but the reduced odds are certainly a curious development.
