Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright has lavished praise upon Everton attacker Richarlison.
The Brazilian was once again making headlines this week as he netted the winning goal against Southampton on Monday evening in the Toffees’ 1-0 win over the Saints.
Understandably, Wright wanted to talk about Richarlison after yet another stellar performance.
“Can I say just quickly with Richarlison, coming off the left that’s where he’s had the most barren spell with goals, and what’s he got five in five now? Something like that,” Wright said.
“You can see that he’s happier down the middle, with the emergence of DCL, I think Ancelotti’s got, not a problem, because it’s a good problem. He’s got to find a way to keep those two up the top moving from side to side, or with both of them in the centre.
“When you look at what he’s doing Richarlison, when he went there from Watford for £40m, people were like what? But Richarlison is a player bro.”
Wright isn’t wrong, Richarlison is fast becoming one of the standout players in the Premier League.
Of course, it’s hard to be a standout striker when Dominic Calvert-Lewin is grabbing headlines, but the Brazilian’s talents have shone brightly in recent weeks.
Wright says Ancelotti needs to find a way to get the best out of both players, and if he can manage that, Everton’s chances of playing in the Champions League will drastically increase.
