Ian Wright has taken to Twitter to comment on footage of Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson, after Liverpool won 5-0 at Old Trafford.

What’s the story?

Well, Wright told the BBC that he thought Henderson was ‘absolutely magnificent’ at Old Trafford, as Jürgen Klopp recorded a historic win.

When Wright’s comments were fed back to him by a fan account named Anfield Watch, the 57-year-old decided to elaborate on his initial thoughts.

The BBC and ITV pundit was keen to emphasise how difficult it was for Salah to finish off the chance for his hat-trick in the 50th minute, following an outstanding pass from Henderson.

Running at speed, Wright feels it would’ve been easy for the Egyptian to lose the opportunity after a heavy first touch.

However, he praised the 29-year-old for staying in ‘complete control’ before prodding the ball beyond David de Gea.

You can see what the ex-Arsenal striker tweeted in full below.

If anyone knows the finer details about running in behind and finishing a chance, it’s Wright, who scored 113 Premier League goals in 213 games.

Mohamed Salah can do no wrong for Liverpool

At the moment, Salah has the Midas touch for Liverpool.

You could argue that he wasn’t even that heavily involved in the first half at Old Trafford, but he still went into half-time with two goals and an assist under his belt.

That just goes to show how ruthlessly efficient the ex-Chelsea man is becoming in the final third – he rarely wastes any opportunities nowadays.

It’s now at the point where we’re more surprised to see a move involving Salah break down, rather than end in a goal for the Reds.

A player like Salah is pure gold dust. He allows Liverpool to have some off days, as long as they create just one or two chances during a game.

He will earn all three points for the Reds single-handedly when there are bad days at the office, which is the stuff of champions.

Cristiano Ronaldo, eat your heart out.
