Speaking on his podcast, Peter Crouch has been discussing which current Premier League team he’d most like to play for.

Having turned out for no fewer than 12 English clubs during his career, it’s fair to say that Crouchy doesn’t necessarily have strong ties to any Premier League side, but interestingly, he’s picked one of his former clubs as the team he’d most like to play for now.

Indeed, the towering pundit says he’d most like to play for Liverpool so that he could work alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and get on the end of his pinpoint crosses.

What’s been said?

Crouch spoke about wanting to play with Alexander-Arnold.

“I would love to play in City’s team, but sometimes I look at Liverpool’s team and the full-backs crossing it. When I see Trent’s crosses I would absolutely love to be on the end of those,” Crouch said.

“I look at him, his deliveries, he’s not had anyone to bury loads of them, but he’s still at the top of the assists all the time, and Robertson to be fair, they swing in so many deliveries, you only have to be in the box and it’s a simple game.”

Imagine

Of course, football isn’t quite as simple as having a brilliant full-back cross the ball to a giant striker who will head it into the net, but could you imagine just how dangerous Crouch would be if he had Alexander-Arnold crossing for him?

Crouch was an absolute goal machine at international level when he was working alongside David Beckham, and Alexander-Arnold is one of the only players in history who can provide that same level of delivery on a consistent basis.

Unfortunately, we can’t turn back the clock and put a prime Crouch in this Liverpool team, but if we could, Alexander-Arnold would surely provide so many assists for him.
