Clinton Morrison was left stunned by Patrick Bamford’s miss during Leeds United’s 1-1 draw against Leicester City on Tuesday night at Elland Road.

In the 90th minute, Patrick Bamford had a guilt-edge chance to score the winning goal at the far post, but he somehow managed to miss the target from two yards out.

That left many inside Elland Road stunned, including those in the Sky studios as they were watching the action unfold.

Given that this was a huge relegation fight, then that missed chance could prove to be very, very costly down the line.

Former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison certainly couldn’t believe what he was seeing, as many within the Soccer Special studio had their heads in their hands after that moment, as posted by Sky Sports.

“Oh, he’s missed it!” shouted Morrison. “Oh, my word. No! It’s an unbelievable (miss).

“Look at everyone in the studio. They have got their hands on their heads. I can’t believe Patrick Bamford has missed. He is two yards out.

“It’s flicked on, whipped in by Harrison, he is at the back post. No one is there. From two yards, he goes with his right foot and puts it completely wide.”

BAMFORD HAS TO MOVE FORWARD QUICKLY

It hasn’t worked out for the £10 million star (BBC Sport) in recent seasons, with injuries and a lack of rhythm to his game resulting in him going backwards.

Leeds need his goals, and when that moment arrived, he completely fluffed his lines.

But Bamford can’t dwell or feel sorry for himself because, another relegation fight, this time against Bournemouth at the weekend, awaits the Yorkshire outfit.
