Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi is already looking ahead to his Serie A side facing Liverpool in the Champions League, and has told Inter TV what the San Siro outfit will ‘need’ to win.
The Reds and Nerazzurri meet in the last 16 of the competition on February 16 and March 8. Liverpool sealed their place in the knockout phase after ending the group stage top of their standings. Inter, meanwhile, finished as runners-up to Real Madrid in Group D.
Liverpool dominated Group B, as Jurgen Klopp’s side stormed through with a perfect 100% win rate. Only Group C winners Ajax and Bayern Munich in Group E also won all six games.

Inter Milan could have avoided drawing a seeded side had they beaten Real Madrid in their last group stage tie. But Carlo Ancelotti’s Galacticos edged the Serie A leaders 2-0 in Spain.

“There’s a long way to go until the Liverpool tie, and we know we’ll need to head into it in the best possible shape,” Inzaghi said.
“We’ve seen over the last four-months you also have to have different ideas with injuries and suspensions, because the team has to be able to evolve from one day to the next.”
