Pep Guardiola has claimed that Mikel Arteta has ‘everything’ to compete for the Premier League title this season, as posted by Beanyman Sports.

Arsenal suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Man City on Saturday evening, which was their second loss of the campaign.

The Gunners have lost both their games to the previous champions of England in Liverpool and now those at the Etihad.

But Guardiola has suggested that they have what it takes to compete against the best this term despite acknowledging it has been ‘a long time’ since they lifted that main crown.

“Their fight [Dias and Ake] and desire to win was impressive against a team like [Arsenal],” said Guardiola.

“He [Arteta] has everything to be a contender to win the Premier League. That didn’t happen for a long time ago for Arsenal. So, we knew it would be a tight game. A difficult one.”

Arsenal’s record transfer deals

  1. Nicolas Pepe

    £72 million

  2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

    £56 million

  3. Alexandre Lacazette

    £52 million

  4. Thomas Partey

    45 million

  5. Mesut Ozil

    £42 million

Even Arsenal fans will admit that they are way off in even challenging for the Premier League title yet because Arteta is still trying to build his way back to the top.

If the former midfielder can help deliver Champions League football then it will be a case of job done for this campaign.

However, given the crazy set of results, there are some questioning whether something different or unusual can happen this season during this quite unique situation the world finds itself in.
