Arthur Masuaku is leaving the Premier League outfit with Besiktas securing the West Ham United defender on a £2 million loan-to-buy deal, as reported by Sporx.

Considering that the Hammers have been linked with more lefties than a Jeremy Corbyn cabinet so far this summer, news of Masuaku’s impending departure will probably come as no real surprise.

The Congo international’s £40,000-a-week contract has just two years left to run. And while West Ham have missed out on David Raum – and with a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt assist-machine Filip Kostic in the balance – David Moyes is unlikely to do like he did with Issa Diop and slam the breaks on Masuaku’s exit.

According to Spox, the former Olympiakos man will travel to Turkey on Monday night. Besiktas, Super Lig champions in 2021, will sign Masuaku on loan with West Ham covering ‘most’ of his wages.

What’s more, Besiktas will have the chance to tie the France-born 28-year-old down to a permanent contract to the tune of just £2 million.

Masuaku, who’s started just 16 games in the last two Premier League seasons, will replace Ridvan Yilmaz in Istanbul. The 21-year-old Turkey international joined Rangers in a £5 million deal last week, following Cavin Bassey’s big-money switch from Ibrox to Ajax.

In an ideal world, West Ham would have already brought in Serbian schemer Kostic from Europa League winners Frankfurt. They recently submitted a £13 million bid while reportedly offering a cool £120,000-a-week contract.

But with Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner ‘sure’ that Kostic will stick around – The Eagles can offer Champions League football next season – the Hammers may be forced to cast their net a little wider. RB Leipzig’s former Manchester City youngster Angelino is another option (La Voz de Galicia).

“I don’t know what will happen until September 1st,” Glasner told Sky last week. “But, as of today, I’m sure (Kostic) will stay.”
