Tottenham Hotspur are due to move into their new stadium for the start of the 2018/19 season.

During an exclusive interview with the Evening Standard, London Mayor Sadiq Khan hit back at suggestions made by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that officials at City Hall and Haringey Council were not offering as much support as they should be, with regards to the development of Tottenham’s new 61,000 capacity stadium.
Levy sent an email last month to high ranking officials at City Hall, that was published by the Evening Standard, claiming that Spurs’ redevelopment scheme was not receiving the backing that it should be.
Khan, however, strongly refuted this claims, when speaking exclusively to the Evening Standard:
“I want as many world-class sporting stadiums in London as I possibly can. When Spurs is redeveloped it will not only improve the sport on offer but the area is going to be regenerated. That’s why I’m looking forward to Spurs and Haringey working together. I appreciate Mr Levy’s frustrations but they are with the council. We will do all that we can to ensure good relations between the council and a sporting venture.”

The Lilywhites’ new home will undoubtedly be quite the spectacle, with some of the most innovative, state-of-the-art features being installed in preparation for the start of their 2018/19 Premier League campaign.
And Tottenham fans will be hoping that their team’s move to the new stadium will coincide with a new era of success.
One thing that the 61,000 capacity arena will definitely bring them, is the ability to compete on an even footing with the biggest clubs in the world, from a financial aspect at least.
