Crystal Palace are leading the race for Eberechi Eze, but Leeds United have not given up on the Queens Park Rangers attacking midfielder yet, according to The Guardian.

It has been reported that London club Palace are ‘favourites’ to sign Eze from Championship side QPR, who will not sell the 22-year-old for anything less than £16 million.

The report has added that Leeds – who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship – are monitoring the situation, and so are West Bromwich Albion, Fulham and West Ham United.

This follows a report in The Sun claiming that Eze – described by QPR manager Mark Warburton as “a very special player” in West London Sport in July 2020 – is too costly for Leeds.

Good signing for Leeds United?

Eze is one of the best young attacking players in the Championship, and he would make Leeds a better team.

Pablo Hernandez is the creator-in-chief in head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s side, but the Spaniard is not getting any younger.

Eze scored 14 goals and provided six assists in the league last season, while in 2018-19, he scored four goals and provided three assists in the league, according to WhoScored.
