We’re just waiting for an official announcement at this stage, but it would appear as if Gabriel Magalhaes to Arsenal is a done deal.
Sky Sports News reported earlier this week that the Gunners had agreed a £27 million deal with Lille to sign the Brazilian centre-back.
But with no official confirmation from Arsenal, there’s a wee bit of mystery surrounding this one, especially when Mikel Arteta refused to comment on whether it was finalised.
Nevertheless, there have been a couple of hints that the player himself has indeed signed for the Emirates Stadium club – and now there’s an even bigger one.
A landscape company called Well Tended Gardens Ltd has uploaded a photo on Instagram of the 22-year-old outside what could well be his new home.
The caption read: “Welcome to London. Cant wait to see you in an Arsenal shirt. Let us know if you need your garden looked after in your new place. Take it you’ll be a short drive from London Colney.”
It remains to be seen what the precise context is, but it would appear as if Gabriel is indeed in the English capital and settling down, which obviously suggests that a transfer is done.
Arteta’s side take on Liverpool in a Community Shield clash at Wembley today, but the player is quarantined after arriving from France.
When his self-isolation period ends, that might well be the day Arsenal announce it.
