Andre Ayew joined West Ham United from Swansea City in the summer transfer window.
Former Newcastle United attacker Lomana LuaLua has told BBC Sport (18:43) that West Ham United winger Andre Ayew will come back stronger from his injury problems.
Ayew, who joined West Ham from Premier League rivals Swansea City in the summer transfer window, recently returned from a long-term thigh injury.
The 26-year-old winger, who cost the Hammers a transfer fee of £20 million, according to BBC Sport, picked up the injury during the Premier League game against Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge on the opening week of the season.
“It’s a shame he’s been injured,” LuaLua, who is 35 years of age, told BBC Sport (18:43) about Ayew. “He’ll come back stronger and show what a good player he is.”
Ayew, who is a versatile attacking player and can operate as a forward, recently returned to action.
West Ham must have had high hopes for the Ghana international when they recruited him in the summer, and manager Slaven Bilic will be looking forward to the coming weeks and months with the attacker back in the team.
The 26-year-old has created one chance in three Premier League matches for West Ham so far this season.
The Hammers are 17th in the league table at the moment with 11 points from 11 matches, just a point above the relegation zone.
