If Tottenham Hotspur opt to loan out Kyle Walker-Peters in January it would be utterly bizarre.

The Sun claim that Crystal Palace want to sign Walker-Peters, with Spurs thinking that a loan could be good for the 22-year-old.

Walker-Peters has not fully convinced in a Spurs shirt this season, despite starting the campaign as Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice option in the right-back slot.

The youngster has struggled at times, but still has arguably looked Tottenham’s best option in the position.

Spurs have found it difficult to replace Kieran Trippier, with a whole host of players being tested out on the right hand side of their defence.

Moussa Sissoko, Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier have all played on the right-hand side of Tottenham’s defence, but have had little to no success.

Letting go of another natural right-back, therefore, would be non-sensical for Spurs.

Admittedly Juan Foyth is returning from injury and the hope is that the Argentine can impress there, but he is also more comfortable in the centre of defence.

Pochettino would be taking a huge risk by weakening his squad even further in a position which has already proven problematic.

And if Tottenham do let Walker-Peters go then it would have to rank among one of their most bizarre decisions in recent times.
