The Rangers defender found himself out of favour after Steven Gerrard’s summer arrival as manager at Ibrox.

The loaned out Rangers right-back, Lee Hodson, has admitted he would not say no to a permanent transfer from Ibrox.
Hodson found himself out of favour after Steven Gerrard’s summer arrival as Rangers manager and was loaned to St Mirren until the end of the campaign.
With his Rangers contract due to expire then, the Northern Irishman’s exit has effectively brought an end to his Ibrox career.
And speaking to The Herald on Tuesday, Hodson said: “If the opportunity came for me to stay and there was a contract on the table I wouldn’t say no.
“Whatever options there are I’ll be open-minded.
“Apart from the results, I’ve been enjoying it as they are a good bunch of lads in there.”
Another right-back, Jon Flanagan, followed Gerrard from Liverpool, although James Tavernier, who captains Rangers, has proved difficult to dislodge.

Hodson could soon be joined at St Mirren by a coach he knows well, in Jimmy Nicholl.
The Scottish Sun reported earlier this week that Nicholl, who worked with the Rangers loanee at Ibrox as well as on the international stage, has been asked to help out Oran Kearney, the Buddies’ manager, behind the scenes.
