Loaned-out Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has taken to Twitter after helping Kilmarnock hold Rangers to a 0-0 draw at Rugby Park.
The Norwegian has played every minute of Killie’s 10 Premiership fixtures since moving to East Ayrshire on loan in January.
But he appears to have saved his best defensive display for the visit of Celtic’s arch-rivals Rangers on Wednesday, keeping only the second clean sheet of his temporary spell to date.
And Ajer posted after the result, which leaves Rangers 12 points adrift of second-placed Aberdeen: “Another strong performance by the team! Clean sheet and unlucky to not win the game.”
Next up for Kilmarnock is a trip to Celtic Park on Saturday, a game in which Ajer will not feature as per the terms of his loan agreement.
“Unfortunately not able to play at Paradise Saturday,” he added.
Celtic’s draw against Patrick Thistle on Wednesday saw the already crowned champions drop points for only the third time in the league this season, though the Hoops remain unbeaten in their 31 outings so far.
Signed by previous boss Ronny Deila a year ago, Ajer has played just twice under his compatriot’s replacement Brendan Rodgers.
However, the 18-year-old’s impressive form for Kilmarnock will do his chances of making an impact at Celtic no harm.
