Mark Lawrenson told Off the Ball that David Moyes has told him that West Ham have made ‘loads of phone calls’ in their quest to sign new players.
Anfield legend Lawrenson is close friends with the West Ham boss and he added that Moyes also told him how the owners ‘leave him to get on with it’.
There might be some owners who like to get involved in transfer business or they appoint a head of recruitment, who runs that transfer ship.
But not at the London Stadium!
And why should it be any different because the likes of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal are prime examples that Moyes should be trusted, as Lawrenson offered his thoughts.
“Moyesey planning, there is no doubt it,” said Lawrenson. “I know they have made loads of phone calls for all sorts of different players.
“It’s maybe just, at the moment that, not just kind of their ducks are in a row, but they are kind of working out how much it would cost them altogether.
“He’s in such a strong position. He signed a new contract and he’s in total control of the football side of it.
“He says that the two owners just leave him to get on with it and, from that point of view, they are really, really good. And Karen Brady does all the stuff when she needs to. He said ‘I am just doing the football, picking the players and trying to buy the players’. I am pretty sure he will buy one or two.”

It seems as though West Ham are closing in on signing Kurt Zouma from Chelsea, but will the fan favourite arrive this summer?
Jesse Lingard is perhaps the one that the Hammers supporters want most of all, with the goalscoring midfielder still at Manchester United.
Given that the East London club are in Europe then more depth is needed, so re-signing him surely has to be a must before next Tuesday’s deadline.
