Tottenham Hotspur may need to sign a new goalkeeper this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur continued their unbeaten league run in 2018 by defeating Stoke City 2-1 at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs have now virtually locked down their top four place yet again, as Christian Eriksen struck twice in a narrow win for Mauricio Pochetitno’s men against the relegation-threatened Potters.
However, it wasn’t all good news for Pochettino and co, as goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was guilty of committing another mistake, handing Stoke an equaliser.

Xherdan Shaqiri’s ball forward drew Lloris out of his goal, and the Frenchman scuffed his clearance, hitting the ball against forward Mame Biram Diouf, who tapped into the empty net.
Just days after being criticised for his role in Alvaro Morata’s goal for Chelsea against Spurs last weekend, Lloris had another disappointing moment on Saturday, and it may force Spurs into the transfer market this summer.
Lloris is now 31 and struggling for form, whilst backup Michel Vorm is out of contract this summer and looks set to move on in search of a starting role before he brings his career to an end.

With Paulo Gazzaniga little more than backup, it may now be time for Spurs to consider their goalkeeping future, and potentially look to bring in a goalkeeper who can eventually replace Lloris.
Stoke’s Jack Butland is one of the top choices in the Premier League, and would almost certainly be looking to move on if Stoke suffer relegation, whilst other options such as Ajax’s Andre Onana or Toulouse’s Alban Lafont are goalkeepers with huge potential who could develop behind Lloris whilst learning from the Spurs captain.
It isn’t quite time to simply say that Lloris should be replaced, but his errors and Vorm’s situation mean a goalkeeper should now be rising on Pochettino’s list of priorities – maybe with a view to a summer signing.
