Freddie Ljungberg has shared on the Monday Night Football (07/12/20 at 7:20 pm) that he is a ‘big admirer’ of Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son.

The former Arsenal coach and club legend also added that he is surprised Tottenham are sitting top of the Premier League table because he didn’t expect they would be ‘that far ahead’.

Spurs recorded their most important win of the season on Sunday when they eased past their North London rivals in front of 2000 supporters.

Ljungberg admitted that he is still hurting from the weekend’s result, but he did express that he is a fan of Son, who scored on the night.

“They have those top, top players with Son and Harry Kane upfront,” said Ljungberg. “I have been a big admirer of Son for a long time.

Earlier on he told Sky Sports News: “I haven’t recovered yet [from losing North London derby] that was tough. But Mourinho gave us a lesson on how to play a tactical game. It was interesting, but it still hurts.

“I didn’t think Spurs would be that far ahead or be top of the league, to be honest. But you look at Mourinho. He has got them inspired. He has got them fighting. They are all doing what he wants them to do, which I think is the hardest thing to do when he plays the football that he does. Hats off to him because they are doing really, really well.”

In truth, both Arsenal and Tottenham are world’s apart and that was reflecting during the game on Sunday and it is showing on the table.

One thing is for sure now, Spurs are in a Premier League title race and with Mourinho at the helm, nobody should bet against them winning it.

In recent years, there is perhaps a certain tag that has been put over Tottenham’s head, well that very same tag cannot be put over their head with Mourinho in charge because he deals with matters a lot differently.
