Glasgow Rangers have handed a Ryan Hardie new contract, and Livingston fans want the Ibrox striker on loan.
Rangers fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Ryan Hardie signing a new contract with the Ibrox club, while Livingston fans want the Gers youngster back on loan.
As announced on Rangers’ official website, Hardie has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension.
The 21-year-old striker has been on the books of Rangers since 2010 and has made a handful of appearances for the Gers’ first team.
The Scotland Under-21 international has been out on loan to Raith Rovers, St. Mirren and Livingston in recent years.
Hardie spent the second half of the past season on loan at Livingston, and scored nine goals them clinch a place in the Scottish Championship playoffs, as stated on Rangers’ official website.
The Lions eventually won promotion to the Scottish Premiership, and Livingston fans want the 21-year-old striker back on loan at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
Hardie is a very good and promising young striker, but the 21-year-old is unlikely to get much playing time in the Rangers first team.
It would make sense for Rangers manager Steven Gerrard to send Hardie out on loan to Livingston, at least for the first half of next season, and allow him to play regular competitive first-team football in the Scottish Premiership.
